Back by popular demand, international supply chain expert IGD, is returning to East Anglia and Shropshire with its free 'Sell More & Waste Less' farmer workshops.
Funded by IGD and designed to help small businesses in food and farming increase their sales and reduce costs, the workshops will be held at the NFU offices in Newmarket on 18 February 2010 and at the West Midlands Regional Food Academy, Harper Adams University on 4 March 2010.
Participants will be able to take advantage of IGD's 100 year track record and expertise in the supply chain to:
- Learn how to increase value and reduce waste, drawing on tried and tested business practices
- Increase value by understanding consumers better
- Identify at least seven different types of waste in their business to reduce costs
- Receive two months of support from business and industry experts
- Meet other farmers and small business owners and talk about shared experiences
- Take away written guides based on best practice drawn from IGD’s extensive experience of the food industry
Peter Whitehead, Agri-Business Programme Leader, IGD commented: "Following on from the success of last year, this workshop is designed to help businesses identify practical ways to become more profitable. Delegates will be equipped with simple tools and techniques that they can take away and adapt to their own circumstances, as well as receive ongoing support from IGD experts."
